Had a bit of time off work in the past few days having had to work nights across Christmas

so it's back to the tailgate spoiler and the tricky business of putting 4 holes in the tailgate! First I made a card template from the back of the spoiler then used this to mark the holes for the tailgate...

Then it was time for a deep breath and go for it! I started with the two end holes, which allowed the spoiler to sit flush before I committed myself to the location of the centre two. I couldn't get the spoiler to sit flush in the middle (it was just clearing the washer jet), but hopefully it would 'pull in' when the centre bolts were tightened.
Whilst enlarging the first of the holes inside the tailgate for the end bolts I made the decision to leave these unfastened - one of the studs was turning when it should have been fixed (would have been a nightmare to tighten) and after attaching the spoiler with the two centre bolts I am more than happy that these two bolts and Tiger Seal will be more than adequate to keep it stuck fast. Also saves cutting two large holes in the tailgate just to be able to get nuts on the ends of the outer studs. Got some nice blanking grommets to cover the access holes and I will remove the factory fitted centre stop light since my spoiler has one fitted.
After a few anxious moments before wielding the drill I'm very pleased with the final fit ... just needs painting now!
