Car phone aerial lead
« on: 09 May 2010, 11:06:32 »

Hi

I am a Planet Rock fan and want to put a dab add on tuner into the car, if I replace the stubby car phone aerial with a bee sting dab whip can the lead be reterminated with the dab connectors to save running a new lead, has anybody done this and where does the lead run to?

Thanks

Saloon or Estate?

Scrap the above! Yes you could cut the old connector off and crimp a new one on. The other end of the cable is at the drivers kick panel.

Considering the losses in cable joins at radio frequency I think i'd be tempted to run a new cable along the same route directly to the head unit.

The coax from the phone antenna runs up the driver's side sill and terminates behind the kick panel behind the bonnet release IIRC.
