Banging while breaking...?
« on: 12 September 2011, 12:49:43 »

Last week I posted a tread about banging noise coming out from under the car when driving over small bumps on the road. Today I heard "bang" coming from rear breakes every time I press break pedal....I'm going to my  mechanic now but I would like to know if this had happened to anyone and what could it be? I can work on the engine but I'm not playing with brakes, no way. Thanks

sticky rear caliper, the bang is the pad flexing when the piston flex,s the pad and it makes contact with the disc :-X

I know, but it makes that sound. Discs and pads are new, we disassembled everything and it clicks inside :-/

Mine does this sometimes - turned out to be the handbrake pins (that hold the shoes in place inside the drums) have pulled loose, and they catch on the drums sometimes.

I also bet on that or broken disc at first but I've  found this fault then.
