Remember the fuel maps assume that the multiram is there and working.

When the multiram doesn't work, as on TheDaddy's car, its flat as hell

ok i think i may have been wrong about my multiram working fine.

every now and again when i plant my foot i feel a nice serge...but over the last few days it seems to have gone flat....i was driving on a round a bout the other day and put my foot down and it pulled like a train.

i done the same today and there was nothing there to get excited about, and i let my mate drive it, he is used to a 1.4 pug 306 and he did not seem to impressed either

is there a way to test if the multiram is working as it should?

it might just be how i am driving it  :-?

Blip the throttle wide open from under the bonnet and you should see it work

If they are intermittent, I'd suggest checking over the vac system, particularly the one way valves in the vac system (each vac reservoir has a built in one way walve which frequently fails).  If an idiot has previously worked on the engine, check the vac is connected up properly - you'd be surprised how many are wrong.

Obviously, its a heavy RWD car. If you have good quality wide tyres, an autobox, well maintained suspension and 'only' 170ish bhp, you're not gonna light up the tyres like a FWD chavalier or calibra. Thankfully.
