ABS Light and Code Reader
« on: 07 September 2010, 23:39:29 »

Hi All

Just a quick question, my ABS light has popped on tonight, so i thought i would connect my code reader to see if any info came up....

Nothing, no codes stored. So i was wondering if it was only a Tech2 that could tell me or does ABS faults not store codes...

Any advice greatly appreciated as only started back to work this week after 19 months, and cant really afford to be without a car.

Is this the ABS and TC light issue meaning your ABS ECU on the way out? I did mine the other month. If it is, as far as i know, tech 2 can't communicate with ABS ECU when this happens.

Does your speedo work or not ? If yes try cleaning the front wheels as you may have some brake dust building up on the front wheel speed sensor.(jet wash is perfect for this task)

Might want to break the connections, spray switch cleaner in them, and then push back together with a little petroleum jelly or similar??
