Is it over bumps or when turning the wheel (could be dry top mounting)

It might help, but i used to have a Volvo S80 which had a creaking from the front offside, took me ages to find it.........and it was the bonnet catches which locked the bonnet in place when closed. ::)

Yeah, drove me nuts, and only creaked when i went over a bump! The screws had come  loose which hold the catc :(hes onto the bonnet!

the creaking is all the time - I had not noticed it but my wife has been using the car this week and of course reports all faults. Went out and had a good push down (on the car) and creaking seems to be from under the engine - in car it sounds from drivers side wheel arch but from front of car with bonnet up is in centre

Bizarre!

Our man here should check for movement in the bushes, link bars and wishbone ball-joint.  If nothing looks out of place,  give all joints a liberal dose of silicon grease spray.

you were right - changed drop links and noise has started again - but everything seems ok. Links were a bit worn and it seems tighter at front but that could be my imagination.

Will keep looking
