Some fault codes on my V6
« on: 09 March 2010, 22:17:29 »

Hi Today I've done paperclip test and I have following codes:
12 -   Could not find that code
21 -   Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) Voltage High
144 -  Immobiliser No Signal
145 -  Immobiliser Wrong Signal

Should I be worried about them??
Cheers

12 is the start of the sequence, so is of no relevance.

21 - odd .. high voltage seems a bit weird ... :(

144/145 usually means the engine won't start !! the EML will flash continually whilst cranking but it will not start as the immobilsor stops fuel.. !!!

Are these current faults .. ie EML light on ... or stored faults ?? ie .. EML is off and you just wanted to check ??

If stored they are "historical" and probably not important ... :)

I think its been stored on memory. I have no problem with the car at all. No EML flashing, and the car starts first time.

So how to clear them faults can anyone tell me, please??

Cheers

You need a code reader to clear them fully, no way of "frigging" it I'm afraid ..

If the EML light is out I'd not worry about them . :)

Faulty alternator regulators can (and do) fry the cars electrics so it is worth checking that the voltage is OK.

5 minutes with a multimeter could save a lot of trouble later if the voltage is too high. :y
