Big suspect for water leaks is the Heater Bypass Valve which is situated behind drivers side cylinder head,

guide to change it here:

I think it would drip down in the area you described but not 100%.

hope that helps :y

Usual suspects are Heater Bypass Valve (black spaceship shaped device with three hoses into it behind cyclinder head.

Coolant Bridge Seals - situated under injection manifold in centre of V of engine.

Oil cooler plate - Again situated in centre of V of engine.

Large Steel Pipe - Mounted to rear of engine in dead middle (bugger to get too)

Or like mine an external head gasket leak on right hand cylinder head. Took weeks to found and only managed that on making a presure cap as per the how 2 section and presurising the system when the engine is stripped down.

Hope its not the last of the above like I found  :y

Probably the heater by pass valve mentioned above. It doesn't cost much to repair but can remove lots of skin from your knuckles ::)

Get it looked at URGENTLY.

I had a leak, same place and left it. In fairness, it wasn't the HBV but a small £3.00 pipe below it had a VERY small split.

By leaving it, that £3.00 pipe cost me over £300.00

The leak cocked up my Dis pack and plug leads...a git to get too on the V6.
