Speedo twitching...
« on: 12 July 2008, 12:59:45 »

I seem to have a problem with the speedo and rev counter in my mv6.
Neither of them work, but the speedo has a twitch, what causes this?
It's in for it's mot next week, so need to sort.
The car ticks over fine, so i don't think it's the alternator, and i've tried pushing the dash back in, ans that doesn't change anything.
Any help would be appriciated.

Fine, everything works fine.
The temp, petrol gauge, all fine,
just the rev counter not working, and the speedo twitching

I can't remember what mine did exactly now. When I 'lost' my speedo I got strange things happen depending whether TC was switched or not, it didn't work though, no speed senstive power steering either. Shhh! Mine fixed itself though

If all the clocks are not functioning, try fuse 14.  This controls the power to the whole dash, radio and a/c / climatic control (if that is not working as well!) :y

You have some bad arcing damage on the top connection.  What is the corresponding contact on the mounting plate like?  Could well be your problem

Why? mines just gone funny and the abs light came on, auto box fault light on, clocks off and on and off and on and battery light on, though seems to have gone off now, unless the buld has blown.

Good news is that you don't need a working speedo or rev counter for MOT :y
