headlight change
« on: 20 July 2008, 12:22:48 »

Could I change the cloudy yellow elite light units (96) for the nice white clear ones on the estate (98)?

Would this work, cause any probs? And how easy would it be for an easy Sunday afternoon type job  ;)

Those instructions are I believe for a facelift car.  The earlier Elites have the washer mechanisms attached to the underside of the headlamps which makes the headlight a fiddle to remove.  It can be done without removing the bumper, but it is a fiddle, and its not quite as straight forward as shown on pre-facelift cars.

Elite now gone.  Bought an X-Type 4x4.  If there had been an Omega 4x4 I would have bought that instead.  We really liked the Omega, but I wanted 4x4.

All done!! Nice clear lights on the elite, and yellow on the estate.

The light washers were a bit of a pain! Especially with big fat hands like mine! Just a bit of blood shed  :y
