As you used engine flush, it's possible that you've disturbed
some built up crud that has:
1)Lodged in the pressure relief valve, holding it open.
2)Blocked/Reduced your scavenge oil return path so that you
are pumping it out of the sump faster than gravity can return it.

It is also possible that you have fitted a duff filter that has been
manufactured incorrectly.

if your oil light is on and your engine is rattling it would suggest low oil pressure have you
1.put anough oil in?
2.used the right grade oil (10w 40)
3.used a good quality oil filter
How long was it since the oil and filter was last changed and what did the oil come out like?
If all the above are correct and you used engine flush you have proberly dis logged crud inside the engine and blocked the pick up in the sump.
This means sump off and a clean out.

I'd be inclined to check the relief valve for debris and change the filter for a genuine GM part before removing the sump but agreed, it sounds likely that oil pressure is low. The reason it only occurs after a bit of driving is that the oil thins as it warms up and this requires a greater flow rate to maintain adequate pressure.

Flushing has been discussed before and it's probably only advisable as a last resort to clear a problem. A couple of regular changes is a safer way to clean an engine. I would recommend that, once this problem is resolved, you do a couple of changes at, say, 1k intervals to ensure any remaining debris is flushed out.

Obviously the engine should be run as little as possible until this is resolved because oil pressure that's low enough to light the oil pressure light is not sufficient to adequately lubricate the engine.

Whilst you're down there doing what Big_Mart suggested, cleaning
your oil pick up pipe filter and sump, unscrew the oil pressure relief
valve from the oil pump housing mounted on the front of your
crankshaft, and give it a good clean.

Replace the filter again when you refit the sump and add fresh oil.
Try not to run the engine until you've sorted this, for as well as the
noise from your top end, you'll also be running the engine without
the oil film that is separating the crankshaft bearing surfaces.
This will result in rapid wear and will require engine replacement
or an extensive, expensive, engine rebuild.

When you replaced the cam cover did you ONLY put a dab of the correct sealant in the correct places ??

If you used too much sealant in too many places it is possible you have blocked an oil way ........ :(

Had same problem on my last engine.  Replaced head gasket and everything fine until the car warmed up.  Oil light would come on (suggesting low pressure) and then the engine would start to knock.  You cannot drive about with this problem, or you will be spending the next month putting a donor engine in to replace your seized/wrecked engine.  As the others suggest check your oil pick up isn't blocked.  That's a sump off job.

top stuff.

Would recommend doing a couple of 1k mile oil changes, this way you flush the engine though properly
