2.0 16V Auto Saloon.

19 to 22mpg short stop/start urban driving in winter.

34 to 37mpg touring, keeping to speed limits, in summer.

I always fill the tank up and record the mileage to get mpg.
I plot this on a chart in a Spreadsheet. If you start to get a reduction
in mpg, it will show up early on a chart and point to a problem.

Have always done this with my cars. I've still got a 14 year old Diesel
Auto Merc, that I've had since it was 2 years old, with every drop of
fuel ever put in it recorded.

How sad is that   :(

I find the spreadsheet useful for recording when you've done oil and filter
changes etc..  It reminds you to service your car at the right intervals.

depends entirely how driven.  20 - 40mpg is the norm

I seem to recall my 2 ltr saloon, manual doing 28/29 average, dropping a little on lpg, although calculation up to 55+mpg if I multiply up to the price of petrol.

I think the 2 ltr 4 pot engines are a little on the underpowered side for such a big car and this must have a negative effect on the mpg.  My 2.6 is ace for driving like a looney, but it still drink like there's no tomorrow.

Incidentally I have just replaced my blowing back box along with the centre silences on my 2.6 and already I have noticed an improvement on mpg, albeit very small, buy hey every penny counts!  ~ Maybe if you sorted your fuel leak and manifold out you'd see an improvement??

How old are the HT leads??  I replaced these along with a set of plugs recently and I noticed an improvement in performance and responsiveness.  :)

Cheers

I went from Mine (Thetford) to bournemouth two weeks ago, my average was 36.8, thats with a knackered lamda sensor, and the dreaded M25 for 52 miles.....  :y :y :y

Very impressed with the mileage on this car, knocks spots of my BMW 318TI i had before it.

I never run on Petrol so i can only say about LPG

But over a 500 mile exact round trip to the NorthEast with sticking to the Speed Limits it cost around £36 To £38 I worked out it does about 7p to the mile on a long trip and about 10p a mile around town

If I boot it back to the NorthEast It drinks the LPG and its around £44 a return trip Only sounds like acouple of quid but that gets you miles on LPG :)

hi i get about 30 mpg round town and 40 to 45 mpg on the motorway,2.0 ltr on paper actually has better feul ecconomy than 2.5 and 3.0,but 2.5 and 3.0 has better performance 0 to 60,i suppose we can't have it all ways :y
