I'd never let a VX dealer touch any Omega I own, I'd be too worried about what they'd do to it.
But as you say, SH doesn't always tell the full story.

No worries, whenever it's free we can get it sorted.
I can ask him for a ball park figure before he sees it to confirm price and what needs doing etc, but I can't remember what it was that needed doing? Rear arches, doors and was that it?

I've just won a 2003 '52' 2.6 Elite saloon in star silver on ebay, it's done 153k miles, my bid was £1070 but it didn't hit the reserve. I only bought it to take the leather for my black saloon. I may end up breaking it, not sure...but if I do you can have the doors. If you have a quick look through ebay completed listings you'll find it. It's got black wheels  which I hate with a passion.

The type used on ..oh say train engines .

600mm breaker bar and a large pair of stilsons. It was tight to the point where I removed the whole housing to check it for damage!

The oil filter was VERY old and cruddy and the sides had started to collapse!

The sump plug was excessively tight to but all now fitted back on at the correct torque.

In theory, the cartridge filter has a larger surface area as well.

nowadays I have big problem with the mechanics even with 'friends' class.. let the incorrect torque problem (I dont remember any of them using correct torque values from the history of earth )
I want to see they do their jobs without breaking anything, dropping something on rims and finish in appropriate time.. One day I'll kick sh*t out of their a*rse

ps: and I dont sum up the cost of unnecessary parts I changed before because they dont have necessary measuring devices and the required knowledge..

nowadays I have big problem with the mechanics even with 'friends' class.. let the incorrect torque problem (I dont remember any of them using correct torque values from the history of earth )
I want to see they do their jobs without breaking anything, dropping something on rims and finish in appropriate time.. One day I'll kick sh*t out of their a*rse

I think the same cem. Fortunately, I have friends like mdtm (and others on here) who I can trust to do a proper job.
