TBH, this is not a problem... AFIK no one is using SMS shorthand here, IIRC the last time this happened was a long while ago... and BTW, there is a limit on the number characters: 6000. HTH.

As someone who gets confused with it and likes predictive text I like things to be spelt out, when I see text messaging it looks like an indecypherable mess.

Texts are good and i think it makes sense to use simple shorthands, like "u" instead of "you", or "tbh" for "to be honest", it just makes sense when you have limited space. Although i cant stand some shorthands like "l8r" "dat" and some people even use words like "wos" instead of "was"!!! What's the point?!?! Also, text typing on a forum really annoy's me to the point where i'll say something and moan at them  >:(

Nothing wrong with texting I cant say I use it alot but makes life easier if its someone you dont want a long chat with  ;D

I must admit though a few abbreviations I still dont know what they mean but I manage to muddle through.

I guess if you have dealings with them day in day out within the work place thats more than enough reason to despise them, handy to have though would hate trying to flag a lift in the pissing rain if I was ever to break down. :)

968 select supplies a you rather than 8 right right  select - same number of keys!

TBH predates texting.

dat - what is it?
wos is moronic

what is funny is some of their supposed abbreviations are LONGER than the correct words and are more effort to type in when you have predictive text
