So its official then, the met office has stated that this winter has been the coldest for over 31 years.
So much for their claims of a man made climate change.
Alfie.

Although it must be said Alfie that recent weather patterns can't necessarily be divorced from causes that now exist as a result of global climate change - howsoever generated.

Though my knowledge of weather patterns is not at an expert level, my research tends to suggest that the weather we experience now is not unlike previous historic weather patterns. It merely depends on how far back you look (or are able to look). Incidentally, there has not been a single tornado in the US this past month, the first time for at least sixty years. However , there have been 5 other tornado-free months since 1950. It is inconceivable that, at some point in our past, there has not been a similarly tornado-free February. ;)

Whenever people tell me about climate change, I ask them to tell me exactly how they think the climate has changed.

Soon shuts them up.  ;)

Addendum:

Mind you, if I could have a share of £63,245,372, I tell you all about how the climate is changing .....

It most certainly has done Nick, I had a very agreeable luncheon in the garden today under a blazing sun complimented by a more than bearable air temperature. 8-) 8-)

The Met office can tell us how the climate will change on planet earth for the foreseeable future but is no longer confident enough to predict any of the seasons in the UK. :o ::)

However, it said its short-term forecasts are "extremely accurate".

That's where a bloke with a pair of binoculars goes outside and has a look then phones the result back?

Apparently they feel confident to predict 1 month ahead, but not a whole season. They dont have a problem with predicting 50 years ahead though, probably because they wont be around to take the flak when it transpires that they were wrong again. ;D ::)
