Date of joining the forum

I notice on some forums that members profiles show the date they joined the forum. Not particularly important but would be interesting to see how long members have been part of the forum.

if you click on the member list it shows on there how long we've been members :y

Really? Who's?

As said, its shown in profile though.  Could add it to the display against each post, though not sure its worth the effort?

What do others think?

on the chav forum i registered on with my corsa they have "member since..." details under the avatars

VxOn for one. ::) (although I don't frequent the site now, but that's where I first saw it) but I've noticed it on a few forums I use in connection with business.

Maybe not worth bothering with if it's an effort, just thought it might be fairly simple to implement. :-/

I think that would be a great idea, as I don't post every day so don't have a massive post count but I've been on the forum for 2 years now so it would be good for other members to know that I've have been a member for a long time :y

That's kinda what I was thinking.....with a joining date you can see at a glance who the real "vets" are. ;)

Back of my mind is this doubt that it may be elitist  :-/

Postcounts could be similar, but give an idea to how active that member is...

I was thinking the same idea the other week, but forgot about it  :-[
I'm up for it & i think it'll be an aid to the trustworthyness of someone as well as the post count we already have for buying & selling

I think it's a good idea to see how long some one has been about. feels like we sometimes put too much emphasis on postcounts (which is why i like being a sub newbie,i'm a senior member but havent said anything useful in 900+ posts).

It's one of those things that I think are useful... By seeing not only a post count but a time of membership you really can see the people who contribute time and effort into the site.

Another helpful side effect is that we can see who has loads of hot air to vent here...... Skrunty :-X :-X :D
