Mat Armstrong
« on: 21 January 2025, 07:58:55 »

Don’t normally watch many utube videos.

Yesterday I was a captive audience while an independent one man outfit fixed our “ can’t open boot/broken reversing camera issue”.  It took four hours .

The waiting room had mat Armstrong playing. Quite watchable especially the Aston Martin one. He buys crashed cars and  renovates them and then went on a road trip.  I was impressed at his bravery ? In taking out the dash ( all 50kg) in order to basically replace the passenger airbag. I could see why no one else bid on the Porsche with every panel damaged!

I dare say the differentiator is that he is making his money not from flogging the car at the end but from advertising.

Anyone else watched any of them? What did you think?

I've watched quite a few of them now .....

he's gone from fixing his car on his drive to being able to buy a £95000 Rolls Royce to break it for spares.

Watched his L405 Range Rover repair two or three years back with interest, seeing as I have a (not) secret hankering for one ;D

Matt comes across as a genuinely decent guy.  :y  As said, he started off fixing cars in a car park or on his drive in his spare time from working in a restaurant. The lads done good. He now has a large house with loads of land and plenty of supercars to play with. When he recently had the stables converted to a garage showroom,  he gave the builder a supercar to show his gratitude. With the support of his girlfriend Hannah, his friends and his Dad Tony he comes across as a true success story.  :y

Yes watched a few enjoyed the one about the RRS TDV8 , had quite a few faults but he was sensible in finding someone knowledgeable for advice.
