Totally unsurprising, but it means absolutely nothing these days. Too many arseholes have been given it over the years for it to be a real badge of honour. Have you seen the arse licking Beckhams crawling around begging for an honour? Sick making.

I agree, being knighted used to mean something, outstanding service to something or other. Nowadays they are thrown about for old friends or just doing your job and mean very little.
