My first boss had a gold coloured Mk 10 Jaguar nice car but too big & bulky for my liking.

.....I think jaguar were hoping it would sell well in America where the average car was the size of Kent in the sixties and seventies.

They always seem huge to me, but probably the size of a current Astra estate  :-\

Personally I always felt Jag were/are at their best when they mix luxury with a bit of sporting prowess. Like you could do a runner from knocking over a post office, but in great comfort.  ;D

No job concerns, it was purely to explain the marketing strategy, turns out the initial bit was to create shock and get people talking  ;D

It certainly did that!

I have seen a red version of the new model and its a pretty impressive beast, not at all like the advert so far

Quite a few online comments hoping that Jaguar would reveal another advert at a later date stating "Only joking with the woke shite, this is our new fire breathing, tyre shredding line up".  :y

Has Kent shrunk since then?  ;)  Just a severe case of coastal erosion.

Yes, it has but coastal erosion accounts for a very small part. Most of it is down to the creation of the GLC which absorbed most of the Northern border.

What is upsetting is that the new X900 is a pretty impressive bit of kit and full of the original Jag DNA.......lots of discussions at work, none positive. :-[
Is that the EV one?  As I understand it, that's not going to be sold in the UK?

Well, I am having my products certified for use in the UK.......I do know that the US is seen as a major market (hence the Miami reveal there)
Are they components that would be used in other upcoming cars?

It's just what I'd heard is this was primarily for US and far East, and wouldn't be sold in Europe...   ...but marketeers come and go, so that might have all changed again ;D

Apparently, Rawdon Glover (Jaguar's MD) has said that reaction to the campaign has featured "vile and hateful intolerance".

They are cross car line products but, there is then regional model line specific certs......and the latter is being done.  :y

So it might come to the UK then :).  I keep getting conflicting info.

I like to keep my nose in, in case its something I want to buy when a 7yr old one comes up....   .... although JLR electrics often seem on par with french electrics, so maybe not in this case!

I could definitely go for an iPace, and probably will do once Ms Reeves gets her hooks into the company car schemes and whacks a load more tax on  ::)
