I didn't realise just how bad my CBA had become. I made time to go and look at it after lunch, then had 40 winks instead  ;D
Too bloody hot to faff around looking at used cars you don't really need.  ;)

Old Ronny is right. Keep the trusty Astra. :y

My Signum is now 17 years old and still a magnificent piece of engineering that is the envy of this forum. >:D ::)

Especially on a Sunday, Ron, when most chavs consider dragging their tribe around a car supermarket to be a cheap afternoon out. You can just tell they have no intention of buying anything.

Is that before or after they go to Costco and what their uncontrolled offspring rip open every box in the warehouse, with no intention of buying anything...

Don't know which engine the V60 you're looking at has but one version of the 4 pot diesels that Volvo used suffered from[I think it had something to do with the piston rings] diesel finding its way into the sump and overfilling it.
Sir Tigs. V70 has a fair bit more Ford input than my earlier[P80 platform]phase 1 V70 and some say the phase 2 cars are not as robust because of it.

My V70 is Phase one as well Baza. 2004.  :y

Steve - I have had my V90 Inscription for 5 years now and definitely best car I have had. See whether you can get a decent warranty out of the dealer. Careful check on where it is up to on service history. Good luck

If I was looking for a new or nearly new estate car the V90 would be top of my list.  :y

Nice looking cars, although it's a shame they succumbed to the sloped rear door which reduces the cargo space. How is an antique dealer supposed get a wardrobe in that?  ???   :-\   ;D

Or at the Sainsbury's near me, where the little unsupervised brats keep playing with the fresh produce. I only go to there as it's very close, but christ, it's rubbish.

The wifes V70 is a Phase 3 but still feels a better bolted together car than any Mondeo i've been in, the handling, however, isn't designed for any enthusiatic driving!

That looks really nice!  8)

Can't speak for the newer Volvo's but I really like my 2004 V70. I've had it for 5 years and apart from a few minor bits and pieces have done 60,000 trouble free miles.  :y
Al seems to think it's expensive, but I think it's a lot of car for that kind of money. Mileage is a tad high, but usually not a problem for a 2l diesel.

My v70 with that engine has just clicked over 224 k miles and still good

Finally got round to going to see the V60 today. It was ok, but it definitely never got the juices flowing. Being the base model it didn't even have privacy glass in the rear. I thought just about every car had that now.
I looked at the Volvo, looked at my Astra and thought'Do I really want to give mine and about ten grand for that?' No.
Itch scratched....for now :)

You came, you saw, and walked away unimpressed.

I get the same when looking at newer cars now. Is it an age thing?  The millennials get all worked up because they have to have the latest Carplay and animated indicators, I fail to get excited.

The trusty Astra lives on for now :)
