That looks really nice!  8)

Can't speak for the newer Volvo's but I really like my 2004 V70. I've had it for 5 years and apart from a few minor bits and pieces have done 60,000 trouble free miles.  :y

Al seems to think it's expensive, but I think it's a lot of car for that kind of money. Mileage is a tad high, but usually not a problem for a 2l diesel.

You can get an equal spec Focus, basically the same car, for less and newer.

Another concern is that that is a two year only model, so parts availability might not be that great.

No need, just had a quick look. Can't find any sort of focus with comparable spec. None get near 190bhp with a diesel engine. Plus, they just look cheap.
In the reviews of the 2018 V60, it is compared with beemers an Audis, not fords.

Not really comparable, looks cheaper and not as much kit and less power.

Fords although good cars, are cheaper for a reason.

I like my 2008 Mondeo with nearly 170k on the clock, but my 2004 V70 with 190k on the clock feels like a better built more solid car. I've had both cars for a similar time 5-6 years and put similar mileages on them, but the Mondeo has given me more trouble than the V70.  ::)

If the Mondeo wasn't a Titanium X with the stiffer suspension and all the spec, I'd probably have got rid ages ago.  :-\

Those two aren't exactly comparable though. The earlier V70 iIS better built than the 2008 Mondeo.

The last V60/Focus is a much closer comparison.

I know the average age of forum members here is well into 3 figures when I see a discussion on which dreary derv estate is the most practical and economical.

For what it's worth the Focus estate will probably be better to drive than the staid, stolid, and sensible Scandinavian.  :y

Also, being the Titanium model it will probably come with more kit. :y

True, driving my V70 is a bit like driving a narrowboat.  ;D  Although as far as I know it's sat on it's original suspension which has done over 190k miles, so it's somewhat spongey.   :)

The Volvo D5 engine however is excellent and has a nice growl when it wakes up.  8)

That's exactly what I said.  ::)

I can't imagine Ford's build quality has got much better over the years, but it is possible that Volvo's have got worse to save cash.  ;)
