Runway 215/55 16s on the Focus were £64 each about a month ago.

Mine are 235/40 18

The cheapest I've found so far are Trazano (No me neither!) for £69.99 each via ASDA Tyres.  I do kinda like to have the same brand all the way round tho.   :-\

Always best if they're all agreed on the same ditch. ;)

Yes well, I'm quite discerning with my ditchfinders you know!  :)

Are remoulds still available, or even legal, in the UK?.

My old cars would run around happily on them without any problems.

My Dad always used to put remoulds on his cars, but a) he rarely went over 40mph and b) he rarely travelled more than 10 miles from home.  :)

When I passed my test and used to borrow his Marina pickup two seater, I think he found himself buying tyres more often.  >:D

PS4S currently.  A mere £1200 a set.  Not been brave enough to go to PS5 yet, although not sure my sizes are all available in PS5 yet.

Hers runs on Primacy.  Her size is more budget friendly, so about £500 a set ;D

PS4s are what I ordered last time, and they were just on the way out in my size. PS5s turned up and I CBA to argue. Have been happy with them.

When I was a penny less student, I had a 1.0 Anglia that soon became a 1200.

I needed two new fronts. Went to the Goodyear in Leicester.£6 each Cross plies. Have you got anything else cheaper? We do guaranteed cross ply remoulds.£2 each. Off I went and about a thousand miles later arrived back in Leicester . Pulled in at an angle , got out and WTF huge blebs on the inside of one of the tyres and small blebs on the inside of the other. . Not touching the suspension - quite. Drove very slowly to Goodyear.

The same guy , bless him, said that is awful . We will replace them. Not likely , no more remoulds for me . Then he got a piece of paper and a calculator and said how many miles have you done on them? Proceded to calculate a discount for usage off the price of two new crossplies. I said just put them on and be done. That was the last time I had a car with crossply’s.

The one before was a Morris 803 with a 1.0 engine out of an A35. I think the wheels were 3.5 inch and on damp or wet roundabouts you could do a power slide……….That car didn’t last long and was a money back from garage job when it developed about five degrees or negative camber on one side at the front due to a rusted chassis repair ( duckhams oil tin covered in underseal) . Ye gods 70’s motoring.

Only time I nearly killed myself was cross ply's on a old mini, it was on its last legs and the good wide tyres wore out so slapped them on for the last few weeks of remaining MOT. Tuned 998 Cooper  engine as well, took a blind humpback bridge to fast and ended up on wrong side of the road. Luckily nothing coming ,new under crackers please!

I need to sort some on the daughters Adam, it has Barum Bravaris on the front and the noise is very high, they are degrading fast and dry handling is 'dangle berries'.

The rears look original (7 years old!) so they need doing to

Only ever had one pair of remoulds, in the 80's i had a viva estate as a shop runabout, and when winter approached (was a bad one) I bought a pair of mud & snow tyres and had them fitted in BMW steel wheels. Nice block tread pattern, could drive through any of the snow that fell (upwards of over 8" in places) Some of the best fun ever driving a car, even with puny HP output.  Also fun just digging it in the mud and watching the mud flumes off the tyres.  The old days.  ::) :y :y

Stupidly fitted a pair of Camac tyres to my red top mk2 Astra…. Couldn’t stop in time for a roundabout and plowed  straight on demolishing the black and white chevron sign. Police arrived and said ahh well we all know what happened but it’s not worth me lecturing you be more careful in future anyway you will be punished enough with the bill for it he sign to be put back up it will cost a fortune.  Next morning I took my Astra estate loaded with sand cement chippings parked up there rushed my 'dangle berries' off and replaced them nicely.  Didn’t hear a thing🤣🤣 while I was mixing I thought… oh I’ll make it a weak mix in case I crash into it again😁😁🤣
