You'll soon be challenging the Lincolnshire mega land owner as the most affluent member of OOF.  :)
.

Got to do something to keep busy in the winter months.

I rode a motorbike from Phan Rang to Nha Trang today, about 130 kms and mostly on twisty back roads along the southern Vietnamese coast.  That's my kinda winter activity!  :y

Well.... I say a motorbike.  ::)   It's a 110cc rev up and go Honda Airblade step through thingie.  :P
Are you ever coming back?  ;(

Sure he is.......complete with a 17 year old bride. >:D

Called Bob !!!

Wasted this afternoon (in between night shifts) going to Queens hospital Romford for a 10 minute chat with a Doctor that could have easily been done over the phone.
Although, I might have found his Indian accent even more challenging on the phone I suppose.  ::)
Arrived 45 minutes early to find they were running 45 minutes behind.
Got out in comfortable time to get back to work before 5pm, but then the A12 around Chelmsford was down to 10mph for several miles, for no apparent reason.
Got to work 10 minutes late. ::)

BA, for charging my lad £70 to sit in a seat that wasn't already booked.
Then the dreaded SSSS on his boarding pass.
They probably thought he was you.  ;D
That's not nice, Ronny, I've always been an honest, upstanding citizen.

Probably.

Was he coming back from Phoenix?

Sounds like he got allocated a front row seat and then billed for the privilege, that's a pretty shitty thing to do and ultimately down to the check in staff pulling a fast one. You can complain via BA.com because the US has pretty strict policies against taking advantage of people with hidden disabilities. Having him recorded as a DPNA passenger should stop that and if he's traveling alone then the crew should be keep an eye on him.

It might also get him off the Super Secret Spy Shitlist although an eastern European girlfriend and being a bone fide maths boffin may not be helping.

M1 and M25 road works though this time we did see some workers this time.

M20 closed between junctions 8 and 10 so faffed around with everyone else driving around trying to get to Eurotunnel. When we did arrive the guy said well done. You have the place to yourself. We missed our train but they put us on the next one - it was nearly empty. Arrived in foggy France in the dark and lashing rain . Just arrived at Chateau Heloise which makes up for it somewhat.

Im actually uneasy about this.
We all hate benefit cheats, but once the state establishes its right and authority to pry into, and take money from citizens bank accounts, it could easily be the thin end of a very big wedge.
.

According to what has been reported recently as from this month they will be looking at anyone who receives any benefit at all , apparently this includes people who are in receipt of state pension they really are getting desperate , just a shame they don't treat the illegals with the same contempt.
I wonder if, in our lifetime, state pensions will be one means tested
.

My advice to anyone is not to rely on the state pension to give you a decent retirement,  it's beneficial to have a good private or occupational pension in place as well , I don't know if it's true or not but I have read several times that the UK state pension is one of the lowest in Europe.
My modest private pot jumped 9% the day Trump won the election. It's flat lined the last 4 years. My work one is ticking along nicely, the 11% company contribution helps.

LHR to SFO this afternoon. The seat charge was so he and his partner could sit together.

Currently sitting over Hudson Bay.

That chateau looks great for the price.

It is. Fridge and tea coffee facilities in one turret room off big bedroom. Other turret is the wardrobe. No milk at all even asking at reception! We have kettle, mugs, tea, coffee, hot choc in car but no milk! Hey ho!

Ignoring the civil service for a moment, with their golden pensions, I think the majority of people who even start paying into a pension at a young age, will be somewhat semi reliant on the state pension, as the amount you need to pay in to DC pensions to get to anywhere near approaching a DB pension is generally considered to be in the region of 30-40%....

Right! When you get home bath, eat, get to bed take some drugs😱 and small night cap if needed then get to sleep… stay there until you absolutely have to get up (pee breaks permitted).
