The stupid woman driver that drove off from being parked just as I went to pass her, had to back off and pull in. No indicator and doubt she looked in a mirror, got stuck behind her doing 35 in a 60 for 1/2 mile till I could blast past her. Suspect she did not know what she had done.

Turning the TV on & listening to Labour politicians talking total bo**ocks about energy that will be cheaper by 2030, all politicians are arseholes in my opinion.

Just after the election I jokingly said to my gloating lefty mate that it wouldn't be long before we'd start looking back at the Tory government with nostalgia.  ::)

I didn't think it would be this quickly though.  :-\    :(

Whoever designed the Heathrow end of the Elizabeth line needs to be put up against a wall and shot.

1) All trains go to T2/T3, but then (roughly)half go to T5, and the other half go to T4. Why not build in a loop (like the underground) so that all trains go to all terminals?

2) Why build the platforms soooo deep underground that you need to take a lift to get to/from them. 9 coach train pulls, disgorges 1000 passengers, and they all exit at the same time to get one of only 4 lifts. Barking.

3) New station, but the escalators are FUBAR already.

British F***ing Airways.

Build them a new exclusive terminal at LHR, and they STILL bus you to the aircraft. Last two flights with them (and it may well be my last flights with them) - one to Venice, and one to JFK, and they bus you half way across the airport to get to your plane.

And, the price of long stay at LHR. For my 3 week trip, T5 was £350, T2/T3 was £300, and T4 was £220. My flight was out of T5 (with BA), and back into T3 (with American). So I parked at T4 to save £130.

Most airports seem to be designed for the airport and not for passengers.

For example there is nothing between able bodied and disabled. At Malaga you can walk about a mile from drop off to the plane.

Leeds sometimes bus you to the terminal , in which case they wait till both buses are full before they set off. The disgorge overwhelms passport control.

Actually, all of those issues stem from Heathrow Airport Limited.

BA is but a tennant.

And arriving, a bus stand can actually work in your favour as it drops you straight to the bottom of the escalator to immigration. A jetty at T5C just after a couple of A350/A380 flights and you're potentially waiting half an hour to get onto the transit to T5A.

The system does fall down due to a shortage of buses... In part because the powers that be limit each bus to 45 passengers. That said most airport short comings stem from the ridiculous notion of prioritising outbound aircraft. This is arse backwards because of you ingore the inbound flights you eventually run out of resources to operate the outbound ones :-X

BA is far from perfect, but many of the complaints it faces are actually the responsibility of other companies within the system.

I generally don't care much about arrivals at LHR. I've always got hold luggage there, so I know I'm going to have to wait for it at the baggage carousels. And a long walk allows us relatively fit individuals to get past all the overweight lumbering effelumps.

Departures though, once you've got rid of your bags, got through security and got to the gate, you just want to walk down the gang plank and sit down. Kettling you at gate 16f, herding you onto a bus, the bus then has to follow a baggage container train thing, then up a set of air-stairs following a bunch of overweight lardy yanks, then waiting for all the entitled idiots in Buisness to get out of the effing aisles so us plebs can get down the back. And then you're delayed by 30 minuites because it took so long to board. If I want that I'll chose Ryanair - who generally board from both front and rear air-stairs which in BA's case would allow us to avoid the aisle blockers in Buisness.

And I don't buy that it's all HAA/BAA's fault. BA have enormous say at LHR. If they want something changed, they can get it done.

I never said that BA was faultless, and getting stuck in other airport traffic is simply a consequence of being at an airport and from a surface perspective Heathrow is better arranged than Gatwick as the taxiway crossings are all underground. In an ideal world, you would build a new airport with no remote passenger gates but T5, and the new T2 are constrained by their position within the runways, and the airport itself by only having two. Neither of which are BAs fault.

The high J 773 can take a while to board, Club is over half the aircraft, but for boarding purposes they should be using dedicated buses for Club/First and then sending the rest, but it will still be 45 at a time, so whilst I can absolutely see where you're coming from re waiting to get down the aircraft the queue actually starts in Traveller Plus as most Club passengers just get on and sit down.
And if you think you have a walk up and down the aircraft,  I am usually on the 773 working from Doors 3 and easily walk that cabin over 200 times a flight.

Americans are always slow on steps...they simply don't have them because their airports are all the size of Lincolnshire. It would complicate the boarding process/security protocols, but there's perhaps a case to be made for using a rear door for boarding from the back without impacting the business priority...
