Them were the days, Dave. Sunday tea, salmon butties and jelly and custard. Used to love it then, can't stand it now. The tinned salmon, not the jelly and ice cream.

Funny you should say that Dave, when I was having clear out after my Mum died a few years ago I found a tin of pink salmon at the back of one of her kitchen cupboards that had clearly been there for a few years.
I kept it, but when I did get round to opening it, it was none too good and went in the bin.
I think most older people had a secret stash of tinned food ,just in case , probably a result of post WW2 rationing
