Radio pinout
« on: 27 March 2018, 12:51:20 »

Hello folks, long time no see.
Tis I back from the wilderness and looking for a pinout diagram for the ccr2006 radio see if this breakout lead is wired right to run a fancy parrot kit our Tony got me.
Search throws up one from Mr DTM but it looks like his photobucket is long dead and not showing anymore.
Cheers
John

Nice to see you again Captain. :y

Looks like Pins 34, 35 and 36 go to the phone module. At a guess from looking at the diagrams, 36 is ground, 35 is audio in from the phone and 34 is the signal that mutes the radio but I'm sure someone will confirm.

as Kevin says, 35 and 36 are phone audio in, and 34 is the switch/mute signal

I had a parrot in mine,, worked brilliant, all thro the speakers, muted the radio, and played MP3 from memory card, used the pre-wired found tucked up near glove box.

The prewiring is the easy way to connect in phone.  But its mono, and not really suitable for tunes...  ...but you could argue nor is MP3, so a mute point (excuse the pun) ;D

The kit intercepts the speaker leads to play music through the car speakers so I'm guessing that's how phone audio is put out too.
I've been told by autoleads their SOT-78 adapter cable is correct but when it's plugged into the kit 12v and Gnd are correct  Ign live I'm not certain about and the 3 mute optons are all in unwired pins on the plug. (bottom 8 way)  which I think TIS numbers 1-8 on the pictures.

The GM phone wiring is via the larger multi-way connector into the radio, not either of the 8 ways.

Switched and unswitched power on the 8 way into the radio is swapped compared to some conventions, so you might need to swap both ends of the 8 way on the kit - or just bin the lot and wire it up to the prewiring connector behind the glove box.

Ah, if the Parrot is the amp driving speakers, the prewiring is useless to you.

Mute is up on pin 34 on CCR2006, not in the old fashioned tradition of being on the lower 8 way block.

If you have a TM loom, this might be easier and cheaper than buggering about with autoleads, that it sounds like you'll have to wreck anyway.

Don't mention TM looms I had enough grief trying to get the TM box to pass the mute from the kit in the blue Elite.
It currently has the basic Nokia kit which I'm assuming uses the prewiring under the glove box, maybe easier to just plug the mute line into that then.

The SOT-078 was fine for everything but the mute line so I grafted one onto the pin 34 wire. Fitted it all yesterday with the help of our T and it fired up first try.
So that's USB stick, SD card, Line in and even iPod added to the musical entertainment in car now. Good job I swapped it as the old interface cable was a bit corroded and the mute pin broke away as I disconnected it.
