When I used to rent out cars for private hire use.....I used to visit the local tyre place.....ask for 2/4 Fred Flintstone tyres in whatever size I needed....paid and then asked to check the car really does need the tyres....phone driver and tell him to take the car to the tyre fitters......Worked evertime for me  :y ;D

I've got a set of Micheln PS3's on my Elite, and I can't fault them - quiet, good wet/dry grip, although they didn't like the snow on Tuesday morning! I got stuck and couldn't go anywhere, but that was more down to the car, not the tyres (or the driver...!!). At least a rwd BMW got stuck as well....
But having tried many makes over the years, its Michelins for me.
PS3 I found suffered grip issues once worn a bit, shame as up to that point, quite good.

Now they are more realistically priced, defo worth considering for many Omega owners

Anything Michelin is coming out at £100 a corner for me.  :-\
225/55/16 used to be a less common size, but not so much now

Just gently pulling away today in wet conditions, TC lit up on the 3.2  :o

So as a test, going to chuck the 17's in the garage on the 2.2, running KU39's 235/45/17 - If it does not affect ride too much, I'll keep them on there.

Then get fresh boots for 3.2, so far Goodyear AS3's look best price wise/performance (£85), can't get PS3's anything like prices suggested here by ringing aorund, more like £100 corner.

If 2.2 does not like 17's and KU39's they will go on the 3.2 and then have a bit of a ponder what to do!

Would trust GY on an Omega, now suffering a 66% failure rate with F1s :(

Though F1s aren't a great tyre anyway, midrange tyre at premium price

Decision made:

Set of FL Elite Alloys in the garage with Khumo KU39's will go on the 3.2, with the later Elite FL alloys getting a refurb at some point. (binning the shite Nexen's in the process)

Ordered 2x Khumo KH31's for the rear of the 2.2, £69 corner fitted from Black Circles.

Given that I've driven the 2.2 over 100,000 miles, this is the 3rd set of tyres I'm purchasing, so needs to be good. I'm very, very happy with Khumo's so they are going on again  :)
