Hi I'm Not sure if this post should be here, so if I've posted in the wrong place I'm sorry. I have just purchased a replacement cluster for my Omega, but the odometer is 50,000+ miles higher than my old one. My car is an 02 with only 97000 on the clock, is there a way of adjusting the mileage on the new cluster to match the true miles of the car? I'm having to replace the cluster as my local vauxhall dealer didn't know how to get the cluster out to replace some bulbs and tried to lever it out with a screwdriver shattering the perspex front and the screwdriver ended up embedded in the speedo!

I hope they've paid for it!!! :o :o

The answer is no, not really. All you can do is have the 2 different mile ages certified but, to be honest, I wouldn't worry... They aren't really worth much now anyway! I assume you got one out of the same engine/gearbox combo?

Have to say I'd be getting them to replace it at their cost ;)

is there a way of adjusting the mileage on the new cluster

I've done it.It's a bit fiddly but you essentially remove the speedo from the cluster and then taking a note of how it sits and which bit matches the viewing slot in the speedo face push the centre pin out that the digits rotate on so you can realign the digit barrels to the mileage you want then reassemble.

So you took you Vauxhall to a Vauxhall dealer and they smashed up your instrument panel? It's their bloody fault, go back and get them to fix it.

How did they think it went it? Just loose and needed levering out? They have TIS which should give them step by step instructions on how to remove it.

Better still print out the guide here, take it to them and expect it all back with a new dash and an invoice which reads £0.00

I must say I think the Omega clockset is one of the easiest I have ever come across to remove/refit. I think you should name names......Was it Kermit or Gonzo??
