Rolling 25 year V.E.D. exemption.
« on: 27 January 2016, 15:46:37 »

A petition to reinstate this was started a couple of days ago. I thas already attracted 11,000 signatures.
Doesn't quite apply to the oldest Omega yet, but as car enthusiasts, hopefully OOFers will be sympathetic to the cause, or maybe sympathetic to forcing politicians to actually keep one of their promises just for a change.
Anyways, the link is below for those who are interested.

I confess I thought it already had been brought in.  >:( Jesus, I never would have thought an elected government would have gone back on an election promise?!

I think all that's happened so far is that they extended the exemption by a year :-\

Be very careful what you wish for; this will mean your car is classed as historic. The FBHVC(our supposed representatives) has once again rolled over and is keen to allow the European definition of historic vehicles.

Now go and look at the restrictions that imposes. So far Britain's rules are for what you can and can't do to/with a car are still looser than any other EU state.

Before anyone mentions it, I'm against the MOT-free ruling too.
