Exhaust advice for 2.5 V6 estate
« on: 15 July 2015, 21:12:17 »

I'm going to have to replace the exhaust on my V6 estate very soon.  I've seen some ebay systems recommended on here in the past, but does anyone have any current opinions on any of the systems below as far as quality and fitment are concerned?

I was thinking of opting for ETS but they have the longest estimated delivery date so I may have to use one of the others.  Also, is there any difference between the systems for the 2.5 and 3.0 V6 (apart from the single or twin pipes of the backbox) - are they interchangeable, I'm sure I read somewhere that the middle sections for the 3.0 are 'better', but I could be imagining that.

Please see my other exhaust/ downpipe post too.

Buy the complete et's system,

Thanks, I think I'll probably do as you suggest as I've been looking through old posts and have found quite a few similar recommendations.

Out of interest, has anyone out there used the Gerlach or permium-car systems?

Go with ETS.

If the cars a keeper, I would consider doing another +200 quid and going Stainless. Longlife would be my recommendation.

The Premium exhausts are also excellent quality, twin walled aluminised steel. The two i've bought for both saloon and estate were an excellent fit and still look as new after 4 years & 2 years respectively  :y

Just bought and fitted an e.t.s system to my mig.......took only 4 days to get here,,,,,because i bought the system from the cat back and all three pieces had a delivery charge i asked for a postage discount and they gave me that without a problem...they refunded my pay pal account with £11.00 which was about a third off the postage...also i cant believe how much difference it has made to my car as regards ...engine running...quietness..and better performance.....so the old system must have been well knackered.. :y

Either are supposed to be good... I looked at both and can't remember which I took but I think it was ETS. I too got reduced shipping.

Just had one on the 3.0 fitted, asked the guy who fitted it if he had any problems with the fitting and he just said ''went on like a dream'' and the car is definitely running better, so at less than £100 delivered and £400 less than VX...ETS has got to be a winner if you're on a bit of a budget :y

Had an ETS on the old 2.5 Elite Estate, and have just fitted a Premium system to the 2.6 Estate.  Both systems delivered quickly, and both of good quality.  Not much to choose between them - buy on price HTH

They only list the 2.5/3.0, never the 2.6/3.2 - It's almost identical, just the backbox is very slightly longer on 3.2 due to facelift bumpers.

So 3.0 system is fine for 3.2  :y
