BBC Bias
« on: 10 May 2015, 11:34:10 »

Looking at the current BBC news items does England exist any longer or is the only newsworthy part of the UK now the 8% of the population that make up the 'People's Socialist Democratic Republic of Scotland'. Not even any mention of the seat each won by Labour and the Conservatives.

Are the 8% the only payers of the TV tax and therefore the BBC is now the exclusive propaganda outlet for the said republic?

Google "BBC SNP" and there have been 25 stories over the last 2 days, then Google "BBC Conservatives" and there have been 18 over the same 2 days. So the party that has won an election against the expected polls predictions and represents all of the country is less newsworthy than the new Scottish Socialist Republic.

Although far from perfect I'd say the Beeb is reasonably objective. :P ;)

United Scottish Socialist Republic sounds better, Mr Rods.

Not sure as it might be confused where Putin is trying to recreate the USSR again, unless we call that USSR2, but he might objects as the 2 would imply inferior and with the massive chip on his shoulder, Putin doesn't do inferior. :) :) :)

If Cameron really is Tory who was hamstrung by his Libdem coalition partners (as we were led to believe), he is now free to persue his own agenda, and high on the list should be the removal of the BBC royal charter and the abolition of the viewing / listening tax.
Shut the whole thing down, make it pay per view, or let it make its own choice how to survive in the real world. It doesn't really matter which road it goes, but the gravy train should hit the buffers, very soon and very hard.

Already making my reelected MP work for a living where I have just emailed him my thoughts on BBC bias and the next licence settlement which is due over the next few years.

What would be a much better earnings model, to replace the TV tax is for the BBC to have an advertisement free subscription model. That way they would have to work at representing all of us as consumers, not just the parts that align with their socialist ethos and agenda.

Bias as in not the expected view? What expectations are required Rods? Apart from Ukranian one.

Sport is completely UK bias. Covering UK sportspeople and no interest in sport generally. I don't see much difference in the news either. Frankly.

Sky sports being exactly that. Sport that's only on sky rather than sports overall. Sky news though, is showing the BBC the way.

BBC election coverage was most entertaining to watch from Ed Balls onwards as, from what I saw of it through the morning, was nothing but Labour peer after Labour Peer trying to justify the results ;D

If I were a cynic I would suggest that the guest list was compiled before the exit polls ::)

Certainly not the BEEB that I listen to. A retired journo said, some years ago, that if you were employed by the BBC, reading anything other than the Grauniad was frowned upon, as this linked story obtained with FOI would appear to confrirm. http://www.thecommentator.com/article/1520/what_newspaper_do_you_think_the_bbc_mostly_procures
