I'm still in the Honeymoon stage, but the 9-5 is a decent replacement.

It's WWD, but not really relevant unless unleashing all 250 ponies.

5 Speed auto (GM) which is an absolute pleasure compared to the 4 speed.

Driven sensibly, you can see 38MPG - drive like me and it's closer to 20MPG.

I like Leather, and the seats make the Omega look and feel like a Fiesta.

Dash is dated, looks like a 90's car..... small price to pay.

Oh, and they are cheap as chips to buy!

Joking aside, for me it would be a Lexus GS450H

I might go a test drive in the next couple of weeks. I had an offer from Lexus to take a 24 hour test drive of the GS300H (same performance as the 3.2 Omega). I filled the form in while eating breakfast one morning and forgot it on the table and went to work. Came home and her indoors had already disposed of it  >:(

Potentially going through this very scenario right now, and the sad fact is there is SFA available at sensible money. So may just revert to the Battlebus as the daily driver (as opposed to the "lets go to the tip today" car).

I did a quote for one in the summer, and the insurance on a 5.7 early one was not dissimilar to the 3.2 ;)

I was thinking of Yanks and found this which I quite like, even though it would be a complete money pit.  :-\

There's also a RHD Chevy Suburban on ebay but I could think of better cars to spend £11000 on, and I'm not sure it would fit down the lanes round here!  ::)  ;D  If it were a Silverado or Avalanche though.... Yeehaa!  :D

Oh, I get it, what do you buy that costs as little as an Omega, is as comfortable, has a useful forum and can be LPG'd. SFA!

I'd literally get anything, an old 80s Volvo, something vaguely reliable, whatever £500 half-decent banger you can find, and start hunting for another Omega, one will turn up - might take 6 months or a year, but it will happen.

Having an Omega you are used to space so a BMW E60 530i ditch the runflats and its about as good as it gets. However for reliablity and something a little left field a Subaru Legacy 3.0 Type B touring.

Given possible pending mortgage applications, a large loan for the car I really want would be unhelpful currently. So thinking something really dull, but usefull, like an Astra or some sort. Which might have to a gay manual. :(

Interesting, as I always feel cramped in 5 Series Beemers, now 7 series...... ::)
