Tablet any good ?
« on: 11 February 2014, 16:15:40 »

Nipped into tesco and had a play with this http://www.tesco.com/direct/hudl-7-16gb-wi-fi-android-tablet-blue/216-1899.prd?pageLevel=&skuId=216-1899

Anyone got one and is it a good reliable machine , cheap enough though  :-\

Bit pricey for what it is at full price. Frequent offers on it though.

If your budget doesn't stretch to a Nexus 7, the Hudl makes a good second choice for a budget machine.

Not bad, I think it's heavy given it's size. But that's down to parts really, feels solid enough though.

Shameless plug, NowTV works well on it ::)

If your budget can be stretched, Nexus 7 is far better :)

Nexus 7 seems to be coming in at conflicting prices . From £128- £240  ??? Would that be because of model upgrades  :-\

the micro usb charge socket is a bit flimsy,so don't go and be a klutzs when connecting to mains, also we put the 32gb micro sd in too.

The original Nexus 7 was £169 for the 16GB model and £199 for the 32GB model, the 16GB (2013 model) is £ 199 and the 32GB is £239.
The Nexus 7 doesn't have an expansion slot for an SD card, but you can use a USB stick with a USB OTG adaptor.

Not really a fan of tablets etc

Had a look at an ipad mini the other day which would not charge

Surprise surprise the very flimsy charging lead was u/s

Needs a new Lightning lead at £too much

Micro usb is too common for them obviously >:(

Apple use someone else's cheap standard?  Nah - why bother when they can charge the earth for their own proprietary cables?

He says with an iPad..

If I hadn't already gone iPad, I would have been tempted by a Hudl, especially with the points-doubling deals (as mentioned).
