hi all, just saw this on my Motorbike forum and thought it was worth passing on.

Be alert during the next few days: Don't open any message with an

I work on Pc's everyday and this is a HOAX,No Virus can destroy a Hard Drive

Yes I know PC's like the guy's on here know megga's:-

1.It's a hoax

2.CNN have no record of it

3.Mcaffe have released info in Feb 2006 of it being a hoax

4.No Virus can destroy a Hard Drive

Whilst i would agree and say don't ever take a chance, its never worth opening an email / attachment if you are unsure of the content, it is , however, likely this email is a hoax.

There are some people out there who write virusses to see how many people's pc's they can screw up or see what information they can get from others PC's etc. However, it is likely this email originated from someone who thought it would be fun to see how quickly an email they typed could be spread round the world... So in essence, this email itself is the virus. Whilst not harmful in anyway, this spreads and grows very quickly....

Its a hoax with a good intention...

To make the more iliterate users think twice about what they do and what they open from the net. These are the users which are most likely to spread infection, by no fault of their own. The IT pro's dont do enough to warn people at the moment, now I fear they are going too far!

But yeah, hoax... didn't mean to come across rude or anything there hehe :y
