engine transplant options...
« on: 22 May 2013, 16:17:01 »

as the topic suggessts, im looking at a engine transplant, ive a 02 omega, 3.2 v6, its letting in water in the rocker cover gaskey, think im down to 4 cylinders too, i was thinking of putting a smaller engine in, was wondering what fits, the car is a work horse so i want to have a bit of torque without the hugh fuel consumption!
any recommendations or does anyone have an engine for sale even?!

Misfire issues on the 3.2 are well documented here and easily sorted as Daz has suggested, but people can't be bothered to search for anything :-X

Fix the scuttle, then change the coilpacks and it will be fine :y

If this is too difficult, you might find it easier to pull the engine and replace it with a 1.3CDTi lump. That will be easier and save you loads of money once you've got it running ;D

i'm thinkin' if you have the mechanical know how of being able to pull an engine and swap it for a new one you'll be able to swap the coil packs and seal up the scuttle.  :y

You could sort the issues and consider running on LPG I suppose? Engine swap does sound a bit drastic. If you do swap it, make sure the 3.2 manual goes to a good home!
