That's what I have been thinking... Lol
At least I don't have to deal with the AC lube! my AC's been empty for a while...

Plus I can clean things up a little...

Thanks cem!

Ok,
Today I have been able to spend a little more time on her...
An hrs work and have the PS pump, AC pump and the bracket out.
2 minutes later the manifold fell through the bottom of the engine bay! Man, oh man! That took so much!!!
Anyway, is it normal for there to be no manifold gasket???
Also, the mating surfaces look in bad shape and the more I take out, the more I find wrong...
I need to make some decisions! :-/

Just went out to check and no gasket, it does look horrible like black sealant has been used but it's raining again now so I think I'm done for the day...
I am trying to decide if it's worth getting another engine, rebuild that and swap them...??? It's looking like this car will be off the road a while... :-(

still reckon easier to remove head mate-easier to rectify faults on bench than under bonnet IMHO  :y

I am a bit mad mate-anyone who knows me will tell you I am a redneck But I always offer my experience -through having done 6yrs+ Omega repairs-from servicing to full rebuilds-unfortunately many learn the hard way :'( If you got to take engine out and you get stuck-I did a sort of-how to-in guides-just to give you an idea of what's involved-we took 4 days(start at 1pm finish at 5pm and coffee breaks every hour) You should do job quicker :y hope you sort it though mate-dont give up the fight :y

I have done q few engine builds and conversions on other cars but this thing has more parts on it than anything! Very complicated engine!!!
I don't have a crane but there is one at work I might be able to use???

That was what I chose to do when I found that one cylinder head gasket was weeping at the back. I couldn't face pulling the heads out with the engine in situ. My back isn't strong enough  :(
Once the engine was out it was easy to clean it and see all the other thing that needed doing (including manifold gaskets............)
