I agree Wayne should have made it clear at an early stage that a mistake had been made,I would have also made it clear that they would have to make positive arrangements for the phone to be collected at the earliest opportunity i.e by a certain date and there after storage charges would apply. Then the ball would be firmly in the suppliers court and if they choose not to recover their property ASAP then that's up to them.  ::)

Odd that the OP felt the need to delete his account. I can only speculate that he had already decided to keep the phone and perhaps opened it/used it? Then jamesv6's eloquently put post scared the bejeesus out of him. Unfortunately his name/email/address/network provider are all on this post for all to see.

Agreed.  :y I'm sure Wayne would be grateful if this thread were to 'dissappear'. He obviously deleted his account to cover his ID on his signature but now has a carbon copy of it in reply #59.  ::)  Wouldn't a reference to those details, rather than repeating them for all to see, have been a more appropriate move.  :-\

......and yes, I would have sent it back.  :y

But it's irrelevant really because I'd be willing to bet my 1p that Google will already have cached his details somewhere ;) Anyway, why should this thread disappear? It then means that we are aiding and abetting ;)

No, his biggest mistake was that he needed to ask what he should do ;) I'm all for getting something for nothing but that situation, where something is tracked, will always come back and bite you so there's no point in anything other than honesty ;) He may well have been surprised by the response ;)

Said the same thing to him  ;)
Its only a matter of time before he gets the phone call / knock on the door.
If he has not got the phone, they will have his gonads.

I wonder if Vodafone would be so honest. How many people have had been billed twice & for what ever have not noticed the fact.
We've all seen Watchdog & we know how companies operate.
I know what I would do if they sent me two ;) But I have no conscience when it comes to this :)

Vodafone attempted to rip me off a few years ago, offered me an upgrade after complaining about some poor serice, girl in the complaints dep't sent me her own phone under the guise of a refurbed model whilst getting a brand new one herself on me , I spotted the ruse when she stupidly left her music on it!!

She was a bit perturbed when I phoned and said I didn't like the model and she had to work out how to send me a brand new top line samsung, I got it and the 'refurb' phone was never asked for. Waited 3 months and got £130 for it on Mazooma ;)

I personally would not have asked for advice like the OP on this forum.

Maybe so, but I would still prefer if people didn't publish it in public text :y

The fact that I'm not openly publishing it on my profile, and is not made public by me? :P

Anyhow, I don't have time for arguments, I'm off to the pub :D :y
