Do we need to keep quoting each other?

I've just been reading through a 4 page thread, and it is driving me nuts that everybody quotes the previous comment, so even just adding a smiley to the thread generates up to half a page of quote each time >:(

Quotes are useful at the right time and place but not required for every reply.
























And yes - I do know what you clever bar stewards are going to do to my little rant now...........

I'd be interested in the admins views on this as quotes must take up a lot of server memory.

if its a quick moving thread then posting with quote is relevant...

However its a shame the system cant filter out multiple quotes within a quote that has just been posted, and filter out some of the older ones

Sometimes they can get overused a bit, but sometimes you need to use quotes so that you know what is being referred to, particularly in a long thread. :)
