Members in the Swansea area need to read this one.
« on: 25 July 2012, 22:01:47 »

A chap on PNG (Performance Nova Group) took his car in for MOT today only to find it written off when he returned for it.
Full story here.

Beggars belief!

Seen that car about on a few occasions and it seemed to be very clean, I wouldn't have left that garage until something had been arranged to sort the issue, that garage should be named and shamed, the only time a car can go on the road during and MOT test is to test the brakes if it does not have switchable TC or it is a full time 4WD system or if it is too low to get onto the rollers.

The recovery truck in the pictures is showing livery for M&J Motors.

Of course that could just be there on a job....

M&J Motors do MOT's so it could be them, however I don't recognise the area so can't pin them to the same location as the picture.

Makes me pleased I have one of these .. and yes... I do check it after ANY garage work .. and it paid  off after the last insurance claim .. when the garage did NOT do as they said .. and the "mechanics" could be heard talking about it ...... manager was very uncomfortable when I played it back to him on the laptop..... in front of the insurers representative .... :)

It made no real difference to me.... but I just don't like dishonesty .... :)

That is interesting, I have been thinking about some sort of camera system myself, not just for anything that might happen to me but, can it be used against another motorist to report to the Police?? I am sick to the back teeth of following cars with small children quite obviously not secured in the rear seat.... >:( >:(

As for the OP I am pretty sure that my independent would simply have offered to purchase, on the spot, my car........no insurance claims as it would increase their costs and an old car like that won't be worth that much..... :)  The Jeep is in for the next 2 days for servicing / fluid changes including auto box and MOT earliest it can go for MOT is Friday, hence 2 days...... :y :y

I can't tell if your post is tongue in cheek or not but the Nova in question would be worth at least around £1500 I'd guess, plus it looks as though a lot of time effort and money has been spent on it... not impressed with it still being a 1.4 on the v5 though...

No pun intended or any offence, I have no knowledge of the car or modifications but the value you put on it is cheap, compared to the bad publicity and insurance problems should they make a claim...... :y :y

Upon arrival to the garage expecting an apology I was confronted by the owner of the garage who claims he was driving the vehicle at the time asking if I had had any problems with the pedals. He says that the clutch kicked out and the throttle got stuck!!!!!!

Does it really matter what he claims happened , he smashed it up and admitted to it  :-\
