Been looking at one of these.
Same year as the mig, has 40 000 miles more and is petrol.
Since mig is diesel (and feared automatic thinking of a possible swap).
Mitsubishi is moted 7 months longer than a mig, has all the same toys (apart for Boose, telephone and self leveling suspension)
Nice looking car but never drove a mitsubishi and have no experience whatsoever regarding them.
Could use some advice

Finding parts isn't too bad.

Discovering the price of them is.

Actually paying for them is even worse.

Like most top end Japanese cars they're modelled on Audi's philosophy; extremely dull to drive/be in, and reliable up to a point. Once it passes that point(which is an age/mileage/lack of sympathetic maintenance/abuse thing) you'll wish you'd never heard of the bloody thing!

 Know someone who had one. As said, he always regretted selling it, loved the car. But sourcing parts at anything near a sensible price was very difficult. I'd research some parts prices first.

Reminds me of Mazda wanting £300 for a Maf, for some obscure model a family member had. Genuine import, but none in the breakers yards, so used parts where non existent. I gather Mitsibushi are similar.

Always wanted one of them ,as for mitsu parts,other than service items mine never needed any in two years of ownership

The mileage on the car is a bit worrying, 250 000 km
And parts here are no more available than in uk
So I think I'll stick to tractor for the time being

I'm always cautious with Mitsubishi and LPG... If it's a GDi engine then LPG systems can cause problems unless it's a liquid injection type

Indeed.

Can you do direct injection with LPG? Just wondering if you can use the existing DI nozzles. If not, you have to run half-and-half because without petrol flow the nozzles overheat and clog.

I don't think I'd bother converting a GDI lump. I guess their better efficiency on petrol would reduce the returns anyway.

I've got the Legnum VR4 2.5 TT (Galant estate), got about 70k miles on it now, owned it 4 years after personally importing it from Japan with only 45k kms on the clock and full history, its never seen snow or salt either I love it, puts a smile on my face everytime I turn the key. Build quality no Audi but well screwed together. Apart from some suspension bits nothing has gone wrong, though the cambelt is very expensive to replace. Goes like stink and still looks great after 15 years in Met Silver.

If its a 2.5 wont be a GDi they were 2.4 or 1.8, though all Mitsy's seem to like a diet of V-Power or Tesco 99.

Question, is it 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive, if 2 wheel drive they had a problem with their drive shafts stripping splines because they were slightly too short, cost a fortune to replace and no warning they will just fail, normally around the 60k mark, 4 wheel drive they are fine.

Oh yes the VR4 had two of them, great car's!! very fast and drinking fuel 
But you can go into a bend flat out within reson and the result is just amazing, you hear the running gear do it's work with the 4x4 like on EVO's sort it's self out!

O yes Rob they like a drink of the good stuff. Over the winter I changed the rear diff to a S-AYC from a low mileage Evo 8, you can feel the difference in the rear of the car even more marked it just hangs in there, never had more than 2 bars up on the dash and can't remember ever going to full throttle either, great sleeper car. I want to try and keep it for as long as I can, its got no rust to speak of and fully undersealed so fingers crossed its got a few more years, though it needs a cambelt change over the summer and camshaft oil seals so got a bill looming.

There has been some chatter on the LPG Forum that some of the high end manufacturers have some good liquid injection systems and one (can't remember who) using the existing petrol injectors so providing the liquid fuel cooling effect that is needed
