NCDR1100 diagnostic trouble
« on: 03 April 2011, 18:58:48 »

Ok linking back from a previous thread a few months ago,

I have finaly got around to getting the car into the auto electrition, where they have aquired the code from the NCDR1100 system and ready to pair the screen.

But they hit a blip in the works were they said there tech2 could not get a signal via the diagnostic plug to talk with the NCDR1100.

On inspecting they noticed the system runs canbus links between Screen, NCDR, CDC (which i new). They are baffled and claim that the NCDR needs 2 canbus wires running to the Diagnostics plug in order to get a signal for there tech2.

Now i told them not to wire anything just yet as i was pretty sure its just 1 wire they needed (diagnostic wire from radio to diagnostics plug).

If anyone can shed any light this would be helpful.

It does not need any more than the signal diags wire to pin 7 (? from memory) and a diag wire from the display to pin 6 (? from memory) - I might have these 2 the wrong way.

Diag wire also needed for CDC is required.

The display *may* need a wire between pin 1 and 32 (double check these on wiring diag - this is from my suspect memory ;D)

Im goin to be removing the loom to check it out. As im sure i had diag wire from radio into pin 7 on standard radio loom (1 of the brown/white wires). Cdc diag i will have to check upon but i think it may not be there as my ncdr tm loom came with the cdc prewired on that. And my car came with grey plug mid so diag wire should all ready be there for that.

For the display, you need to add a wire between those pins I said earlier, else tou can't diagnose the display

Any idea which pin it will be on cid 32pin connector? Or did you mean grey plug p32 connects to diag plug p1?

Also which pins on diagnostic plug does radio/cdc/cid wire to.

If its an Omega, you don't need to make any changes to MID wiring except shorting those I said in reply #1

In which case, you'd need to go through the wiring diags, but imagine pretty similar

Ok but are cid mid plugs the same pin layout as standard mid. With exception of CAN instead of stalk?

Dont understand why he cant get signal if all the diag wires are there..

As its not Omega, I'd recommend to look at wiring schematics, They are both ground connections on Omega CID (but only one is ground on Omega MID, other is NC

One of the pins on the CID is a mode selector (pin 1 or 32, cant recall which) and needs to be grouded for the display to work in omega mode (the other mode is Astra mode).

TB is saying that you need to connect 32 to 1 as one of those is a 0V connection and the other the mode pin, if you dont do this then diag wont talk to the display.
