Sound like there's no anti-freeze in it, drain and flush (I think there's a guide), and re-fill with 50/50 GM antifreeze.

who did it for you?? what was the colour of the anti freeze? take out some liquid in a seringe and see the colour through it because in the header tank the colour can be misleading.

worse case is oil in water :(

Quite possibly not flushed thoroughly enough. The v6 cooling system is a pita to cleanse fully, easier if you happen to be removing the water pump as a lot of it lurks down there.

If your antifreeze was done by just draining the rad then refilling with 50/50, only c50% of the fluid content has been changed. The remaining 50% will very soon taint your nice new mixture, hence the 'rinse and repeat' nature of the guide.

The garage did a poor job. Unsurprisingly.

Do it yourself, following the guides on here.

The correct mix of antifreeze is critical - its not just there to stop freezing (apt this time of year), but also it has corrosion inhibitors.  Obviously yours seems like it hasn't.

Did they flush it through a few times? no good just draining it once (as that doesn't get much out) and refilling.

Accept the fact most garages (including dealers) do not know what they are doing, and work from there ;)
