Fitted another 2.5 V6 into a CD estate today and it fired up almost straight away BUT the tacho isn't working.

any ideas would be appriciated

Knocked the ABS speed sensor off somehow while working on the car? Isnt that what picks up te signal??

Tacho signal comes from the engine ECU. It's the speedo that's driven by the ABS.

Odd that an engine change would affect it. First step is to check the multi way connectors between engine / ECU loom and body loom IMHO. Maybe one's worked loose.

If you have a multimeter that does RPM or frequency try putting it on the light green wire from the ECU and see if there's a RPM signal there?
