To stop the alarm, disconnect the battery within ten seconds or so after turning off the ignition.

What does engine management light do when you switch on ignition?

Engine management light is on when ignition switched on and stays on whilst cranking.

Is the light steady or flashing while cranking ???

If flashing it is an immobilisor problem, and thats why it won't start.

If steady it is a fault code ... as it can't be "paperclipped" it needs a code reader ..

If you put your car details and location in your profile it will save everyone asking you !! and those nearby may be able to help  :)
