immobilizer reprogram
« on: 02 October 2007, 14:56:01 »

Hi all,
Just replaced keyfob lithium batteries (cr2025) but cant recall the procedure to re-sync the immobilizer infrared signal for my trusty '94 omega td estate..
Immobilizer red light on dash just remains on constantly...not even a flash, hence car won't start.
Can anyone give me a refresher on this please..I know the procedure was in the manual that came with car but I have misplaced this somewhere too.
Is it something to do with light on keyfob blinking twice to reset then to try key in ignition? Does driver door have to be open or closed?  Cheers

Thanks for reading

This out of my handbook....

Synchronizing remote control
In the event of malfunctions, synchronize remote control:

Switch on ignition; system will then remain in synchronizing mode for 30 seconds.

Briefly press any button on the remote control unit while the unit is in the ignition.

The central locking system locks and unlocks to show that the remote control has been synchronized.

Reading through the Handbook though it says if the Immobilizer light stays on contact your Vauxhall Dealer, not sure if that means a Tech 2 is needed.
