Newbie from Spain
« on: 07 February 2025, 23:07:13 »

Hi all, new to the forum.
My name is Rodrigo, but friends call me O'Téunico. I live in Galicia, NW Spain.
I have always liked 90s Opels. I had a 1995 Vectra B, 1993 Corsa B and, since 2016 my daily driver is a 1998 Omega B 2.5TD.
I bought it at the local Opel dealership. Original owner died and widow stored it a few years after part exanging it for a brand new corsa.
I picked it with 155.000km, now clocking a tad over 240.000km.
Modifications include: tow ball, 195/65r15 tyres, bespoke roof lining, reversing camera with the screen replacing the original clock/calendar and Sumo spring helper rubber blocks.
Over the years it has been a very reliable vehicle. Just went once to the workshop for repairing a diesel leak in the bosch pump (BMW M51 engine). Other minor repairs done by myself and bro: heater valve (following forum's instructions), reverse lamp switch and leaking injector plug.
Next improvements: rear HD suspension coils from Caravan, SumoSprings rubber blocks in front axle and reinforced 195/70r15 raid remoulds.
Will post some pics soon.

I see now why you wanted to strengthen the rear suspension!
Surely you don't mean 'remoulds' in replacement tyres, and  how the majority on here would associate 'remould tyres' ? :o

I have seen them mounted in a saloon. It was in a russian forum. It lifted the tail about 2 inch and was "hard as an UAZ"  ;D
I have bought a pair of CS Germany 14.774.216 from Autodoc.

Its called a rubber damper, and is a fairly common fault on the diesels, though the 2.2 diesel (only sold in the UK, not Europe) is far worse!
