Cam belt changed, Ran car for 25 mins to top up water. Once done, drove car up the garden with the car facing uphill. Just as I got to the parking spot, engine died and will not start now. Engine turns over. When Go juice is squirted into air intake it fires and runs for a few seconds, so not an issue with the timing being out after belt change.

When key is turned and engine cranks, no fuel is pumped into engine bay.

Upon removing the top cover to fuel pump in the boot and disconnecting the electrical connectors (4 wires, two for fuel sender and 2 for fuel pump) when the ignition is turned on there is no live feed to the fuel pump, when engine is cranked over the fuel pump supply comes on.
When the pump was given a direct live feed, the pump can be heard running, but no fuel is pumped to the engine bay and it sounds a bit like the pump is sucking on air.
Haven't yet taken off top cover to tank to expose the pump, and check if a hose has come off as time ran out,

What I'm not certain about is why the fuel pump does not go live when ignition is turned on (i.e. dashboard lights on but not cranking). Most other efi cars I've known went live to the fuel pump when ignition switched on.
Could the immobiliser be causing a problem?
Also how does immobiliser operate? Does it stop the engine cranking at all or does it cut off the fuel supply and stop it starting that way?

As the car is parked uphill and the fuel pump is at the front of the tank, the fuel will be tilted to the rear of the tank. Probably about 4 gals in the tank as I had put 2 gals in, in case low fuel was the issue.
Obviously once I take the top off the tank and expose the fuel pump I can see if a hose has got disconnected from the pump but I feel there might be two probs, one with the pump hose coming off inside the tank and another with the immobiliser but as I'm not sure how the Immobiliser functions, I cannot be certain.
Any ideas??

I had an issue where the pipe that links the in tank pump in the swirl pot ,to the metal exit pipe (all in tank) had split , so fuel was just pumping back into the tank .
replacement line I used ....https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311899165989  :y

Problem solved and alternative part for Omega fuel supply pipe found.

Upon removing the fuel pump cover on the top of the tank it was immediately obvious that the plastic pre shaped fuel line connecting the fuel pump outlet to the fuel outlet (on the cover to the tank) to the engine, had detached and was obviously not delivering fuel.
I suspected that might be the problem as, when we fitted the new fuel pump last winter, we could not get (from the internet or Vauxhall) the tightly bent pipe connecting the pump to the outlet connector above it, and had to make do with a poorly matching plastic pipe that came with the pump, which had to be bent into shape and have its ends opened up with a lighter flame to get them to fit the fuel pump outlet and the outlet pipe in the top cover for the pump.
This obviously pulled itself off the pump over the course of 8 or 9 months.

I thought we'd have to make a heath robinson concoction of pipes and plastic elbows to get the pump and pipe to connect in the confines of the tank/swirl pot, but whilst I was waiting for my fuel hose and connectors to arrive I did a final search for moulded fuel hose on ebay and included in my first page of suggestions was a part from Gates that was designed for the Vectra B from 1995 to 2000 and for the same engine (X25XE). As it looked to be the shape I remembered from the original hose which had previously gone all gooey, I ordered it. It was only a fiver, so worth the risk.

I had searched Gates to see if they listed one for the Omega, but no luck.
Well, once we compared the replacement Vectra hose to the omega pump and outlet,  it looked a good fit. And it was in fact a perfect fit.
So with new hose clips it should not be coming off any time soon.
From my Ebay listing there are several part numbers showing as follows:
Opel 820415
9157561
RAPRO: R18258
and MFL1107 ( I think this is the Gates part number)
I got mine from Carpartsinmotion on ebay but I'm sure it must be available elsewhere.
Of course, it may be that the Omega  part was only temporarily unobtainable when I checked last December but if it is no longer stocked as an Omega part, the Vectra B part for the same engine and year was a perfect fit, for my car at least.
Hope this is useful.
