Just recently my temperature gauge has taken to falling to zero, as if the ignition has been turned off, then rising back to normal. Occasionally it falls to somewhere between zero and normal or once it has fallen to zero it rises to somewhere between zero and normal! then it might return to normal, say 95 and remain there for the rest of the trip!
Any ideas anyone? The car is a Y reg 2.2CD 16V.

The connection is just a spade on a stud at the back of the engine and so can make bad contact - would be a good first item to check certainly.
