There is a similarly daft scheme for passwords at one of my clients, along with 30 day enforced changes.. About every couple of logins for me. It's the only place where, I'm ashamed to say, I generate passwords using a password generator written to abide by their silly rules and write my passwords down on a post-it note. (well, its' electronic equivalent) :-[

You can develop something that appears to be really secure... ::)

Indeed. Our security team enforce strong passwords, but then the helpdesk team suggest writing down for xmas break to reduce their early January workload
