Alternatives to RM for packets
« on: 07 March 2014, 15:50:23 »

RM are not the issue Post Office counters are.

One near home, useless
One near work, shut
One next nearest work, shitty traffic, mile long road queues  so gave up.

So what couriers are affordable and give good service?

Collect+ are handy from home but are parcel people, as most car parts have gone that way.

Ideas please.

Thanks

UPS "deliver to store" via interparcel.com.
basically drop it off at a convenient corner shop - there's a list on the website.
Cheaper still if you can get customer to pick it up from a corner shop near them - they're having a 99p !!!! sale at the moment to promote it.

UPS is not so competitive vs RM up to a kilo, slightly cheaper over that (depending on size of parcel, rather than weight).
interparcel offer cheaper services via hermes, amongst others, but having seen the reviews on hermes,
I wouldn't touch them with STemos  ::)

   I use APC for the ABS club shop stuff. 4.88 for upto a kilo, 8.99 upto 5 kilo and around 16 quid for a parcel upto 2o kilo. All next day delivered and signed for.
